American soprano Kate Curran recently graduated with a Master of Music degree from Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium and previously received a Bachelor of Music degree from The Manhattan School of Music. She has sung the roles of Vixen Sharpears in The Cunning Little Vixen, Cupidon in Orphée aux enfers, and Chauve-Souris inL’enfant et les Sortilèges, as well as premiering the role of River in the newly composed opera Edge of the River by Tan Tuan Hao. Ms. Curran is a frequent recitalist, having performed internationally and for such organisations as Det Danske Sangselskab, the Copenhagen Opera Festival, Christina Nilssons Sällskapet, and Music Confucius Institute. She is an avid promoter of new music and is a member of SOUNDS, a group based in Copenhagen which is dedicated to the advancement of living composers.
